We have recently been working with a chiropractic business here in Brisbane to increase their search engine standing and have had some early good results. While the result themselves were not surprising, the speed at which they were achieved and the relative ease with which we achieved the results was a little surprising.
It was our understanding that the keywords targeted were most likely to be high competitive. Google has the keywords valued at between $6 – 8.00
We achieved some outstanding results for a Brisbane-Based small business this month with more than 10 targeted prime keywords that moved from the dark depths of Google search results to be on the first page of Google results.
The business is design-associated, and had a website in good standing, with lots of decent content. This was a good place to start.
A new client came to My SEO Guy with an existing site, and what would most often be classed as poor website traffic and poor search engine rankings. This is the sort of job we love. To aid in the turn around of a small business(in this case essentially a one man business)
This SEO job, targets some highly competitive keywords, which always makes our job more challenging, but also allows us to examine different on-page and off page strategies to lift the site against the ‘tide’ of other sites competing for these search terms.
With one month down since we took on the job of Search Engine Optimisation for this client we have some good results, but lots of work still to do.
I got asked the question the other day… “If you are so good at SEO, why aren’t you on the first page of Google for “SEO Brisbane”?”
A valid question? Yes!.. but with a simple answer. Our job is to get other peoples sites appearing as high and as often as possible in the organic results of Search Engines – namely Google.
So we do not spend extraordinary amounts of time working on our own side of things. We rank well for certain keywords, and others we could definitely improve on. out target phrase from the beginning was “SEO Brisbane” – as we mentioned way back in August. So where are we now..?
The answer to that question is still no… but we are headed in the right direction.
Like most people we took a break over Christmas, so we dont have much new information to report. We are back to work now though and continuing the work we need to do to get My SEO Guy to the First Page of Google.
Traffic to the website has been steady, and keywords steadily improving, so we are more thatn happy with our results so far… But our aim is to be on the First Page of results.

Grimpond SEO remains on page 2 of the Google SERPs and continues it’s slow downward trend. (Stay tuned for more news on this)
Another two weeks passes by and some small changes in our rankings have occurred.
So where is My SEO Guy??
Last time we reported in, it was fluctuating between position # 23 and position # 56… Things have settled now and My SEO Guy is holding in it’s page three between position #28-30.
We spent a little time in the “Google Sandbox” with the index page of My SEO Guy not being found in the Google index for a number of weeks, but steady work and good content have enabled us to be “found” again.
As before… we expect the My SEO Guy ranking to continue to improve.
More than a fortnight has passed since our last My SEO Guy position update, and not a lot has changed.
seo.grimpond.com remains on the first page for “seo brisbane”, and holds its position at #7 or #8 for the last weeks.
But our real interest is in the position of My SEO Guy for the targeted prime keywords “seo brisbane”, and the results vary. At it’s highest point My SEO Guy was at position #23 for the targeted keywords. and at its lowest point position # 56. This is a not uncommon results for a new site, where Google places it in the search engine results pages based on it’s initial ‘crawls’ of the front page of the new site and then adjusts it’s position as it crawls the remainder of the site. A little over two weeks ago we told you of a great result for a new SEO client, which was their website reaching the first page of Google search results in just one week. This was an outstanding result for a term that is extremely competitive. How competitive?… other businesses are paying up to $10.00 per click to have Google Ads placed in the ‘paid’ results section of the Google results page.
So where is the site now? Position #3 on the first page of Google results for the prime keyword phrase, and that gives you results like this. Continue reading
Another week or so has passed and the interesting search engine results continue..
This week seo.grimpond.com has reached the first page for “SEO Brisbane” again coming in at position #8 – an excellent result! Even though it is not the specific outcome what we were aiming for, we are pleased with the result.
This is in conjunction with the results for My SEO Guy, which have also improved. My SEO GUy – myseoguy.com.au – is now at position #34, up from position #48– for the term “seo brisbane” Continue reading
